Ethics and ethical dilemmas are continuing features in the lives of attorneys.

Does the State Bar of Arizona charge its members more disciplinary costs than any other state in the country?  Other than perhaps California, in certain circumstances?  This list, compiled by John Van Bolt of Michigan from a survey of the members of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers in 2009, suggests that the answer is yes.  And remember– this is on top of the dues that the member has already been paying every year.  Please stay tuned for a complete list of all states, and for the results of the efforts of a group of respondents’ counsel to change this situation.  (Unsuccessful efforts have been made– but we have not given up!)  ASSESSMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE FEES – October 2009 (rev)
